Mental Health Act 2007 (Update)

The legislation governing the compulsory assessment and treatment of certain people who have a mental disorder is the Mental Health Act 1983. The changes to the Act start coming into force in October 2008. Trusts, voluntary groups and charities need to ensure their staff are fully briefed and prepared for the changes.
